I'm finally at the end of Taizokai. I've finished my 79th practice today, with just two more practices to go, it means I'll be done tomorrow.
It's going to be another emotional day tomorrow when I "wave goodbye" to Taizokai's Buddhas and welcome my next stage, Kongokai (金剛界). The kanji of Kongokai roughly translates to "principles of the everlasting-bond" (or some refer it to "the principles of the diamond world).
From Wikipedia
Kongokai (or Diamond Realm) represents the unchanging cosmic principle of the Buddha, while the Taizokai (or Womb Realm) depicts the active, physical manifestation of Buddha in the natural world.
I'm not sure whether that's the best definition, but I'll sure to find out more and will be able give my share of input when I start tomorrow. But in theory, this stage of the practice is all about learning the cohesiveness of the universe. In other words, the marco-view of the world. If Taizokai means to enjoy the silence of being inside the womb, then Kongokai is like the celebration of life.
Where Taizokai was full of Mantras or spells, Kongokai involves a lot of Mudras. Mudra is a hand gesture mainly involving positioning the fingers to create a stable "seal", representing the Buddha's wisdom. So next time when you see a Buddha statue, don't think the creator just randomly place its hand somewhere, there's actually meanings to it. There are a total of 37 Buddhas in the center of the Kongokai Mandala plus another 36 on the side, each having their own Mudra and Mantra. I have to remember them all and do them during practice.
Since I'm always a macro kinda guy, I think I'll enjoy Kongokai a lot. Let's wait and see.

Thanks for the welcome to Vancouver, and hope you are enjoying your adventure!
